FT Office Manager Position Available

We are looking for a full time office manager/optician. Looking for person with experience in optical and/or health/retail management. Will perform wide range of duties on both the optical side as well as the examination side. Duties may include but not limited to: Manage all aspects of staff scheduling, punctuality, time off, complaints, hiring, frame board management, oversee in-house lab, insurance and billing, optical dispensing, contact lenses, product orders and delivery. Must be highly motivated, organized, an independent worker, and pay attention to detail. Must show leadership through example. Job Title: Optician

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists
  • Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frame including lens treatments and add-ons
  • Give product recommendations based on lifestyle and vision needs
  • Take accurate measurements of patient's face and optical details to ensure best possible fit
  • Create work orders for lab
  • Verify all incoming frame and lens orders for accuracy
  • Adjust eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and function
  • Repair broken and damaged frames
  • Educate patients on proper wear and care of eyeglasses
  • Maintain and manage all frame inventory and optical merchandise
  • Assist with additional office tasks such as answering phones, patient scheduling, and contact lens orders

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • > 1 year experience in optical setting

Skills and Competencies:

  • Certified or licensed optician, preferred
  • Knowledge of major vision plans including VSP, Davis, and Eyemed
  • Medical terminology
  • HIPAA knowledge and compliance
  • Excellent time management
  • Organization and attention to detail
