For 52+ years, Lifetime Eye Care has developed a large and loyal patient following from those residing in and around the Lewiston / Clarkston Valley. Cherished multigenerational relationships have been developed over the years, and trust has been earned and enjoyed.
Our focus has continually been the provision of quality full-scope optometric care, through the use of two well equipped examination rooms, a pre-testing room (NCT, OCT, Fundus Camera), a visual field room, a contact lens fitting area, a large waiting area, and a large optical with hundreds of eyeglass frames. A large break room is often utilized for various functions, including staff meetings, holiday celebrations, etc, and could easily be converted to a VT area if desired. A one-bedroom apartment is available downstairs for additional income or could be doctor occupied. We render nearly all facets of primary care optometry, and are fortunate to have wonderful co-management options within the area when needed.

Lewiston is located at the confluence of the scenic Snake and Clearwater rivers, approximately 465 river miles from the Pacific Ocean. Lewiston is the most inland seaport on the West Coast, allowing for easy waterway import / export. Through the Columbia-Snake waterway and three port districts, the community serves as an economic hub for the Inland Northwest and a window to the Pacific Rim.
The cities of Lewiston, Idaho and adjoining Clarkston, Washington, trace their heritage to the 1804-1806 expedition of Captains Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and Sacajawea — a journey commissioned by the nation's third president, Thomas Jefferson, to seek and chart a new trade route to Asia. Two centuries later, the Lewiston area (with a population of approximately 56,000) plays an integral role in the economic and cultural link of the Pacific Northwest and Asian trading partners that include Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Russia and other countries.
Lewiston served as Idaho's first territorial capital in 1865, before the seat of government was moved to Boise in the state's southwest region. Lewiston grew seemingly overnight into a center of commerce and culture after the discovery of gold in the mountains of north central Idaho.
Lewiston's elevation is 738 feet and provides ideal temperature conditions, hence the nickname "Banana Belt." The average year-round high in Lewiston is 63 degrees; the average minimum is 41 degrees. When the surrounding area is covered in snow, Lewiston's average daytime highs range from 47.6 in November and 41 degrees in December to 39 degrees in January and 46 degrees in February. Annual precipitation is 12.63 inches, relatively evenly distributed throughout the year.
The moderate, inviting climate is ideal to year-round recreational pursuits such as golfing, world class fly and steelhead fishing, hunting, cycling, hiking—to name a few. The area has an extensive levee system with paved paths along the rivers for walking, running, and cycling, and Lewiston was named one of the top outdoor recreation cities in the United States by Outdoor Life magazine. With two rivers nearby, it’s quick and easy to launch a boat, jet ski, kayak, canoe, paddle board, or to just jump in for swim. Whitewater rapids and jet boat rides are nearby, in famous Hells Canyon. Winter sports are easily accessible, with the Waha and Blue Mountains very near, for snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, or just building a snowman. For these reasons and many more, it’s a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
Lewiston is located approximately 100 miles south of Spokane and 270 miles north of Boise. Both Portland and Seattle are about a six-hour drive away.
Lewiston offers many amenities and activities, including several unique restaurants, a new High School (2020), Lewis-Clark State College, the home of the NAIA World Series baseball tournament, an airport offering direct flights to Salt Lake City UT, Denver CO, and Seattle WA, cruises to Astoria OR, the Lewiston Civic Theater, Hot August Nights classic car show, the Dogwood Festival (countless Dogwood trees), and the Nez Perce County Fair.
Numerous employers within the area provide medical and vision insurance for their employees, such as Vista Outdoors, Clearwater Paper, Lewiston and Clarkston School Districts, Thunderjet / Custom Weld / Renaissance Boat manufacturers, Avista Power, Seekins Precision, St. Joseph’s / Valley Medical / Tristate Medical facilities, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Regence Blue Shield of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State College, and more.
The L/C Valley is a great place to live, offering numerous in-town amenities while still being in the heart of countless outdoor recreational options.
